Sankalp 3.0

Sankalp 3.0 is the third edition of the week-long celebration, which includes competitions and cultural activities, to commemorate Constitutional Day, also known as The Law Day. The aim is to indulge students in an interactive and holistic manner to gain insight into the various features of the Indian Constitution. 

The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The future is in the hands of the people and people can transform the nation with the latest technologies and management. It is necessary to take immediate measures to spread awareness about the same. Therefore we have adopted Sustainable development goals as the theme for our constitution day celebrations.

Elements of the Event:

1)    Guest lecture by Dr. Shalini Shashank Phansalkar Joshi:
On the constitutional day Dr. Shalini Shashank Phansalkar Joshi, a Former Judge at the Bombay High Court, Mumbai. She will share her experience and expertise on the evolution of the scope of the Constitution of India.

2)    Guest lecture by Mr.Salunke Pratap and Mr. C S  Somu:
Dr. Salunke Pratap, Head of the Department of School of Law and Dr. C S  Somu, Professor - School of Law, would deliver a talk on the History and scope of the Constitution of India.

3)    Intra Collegiate Competitions:

i)    Parliamentary Debate: 
Parliamentary Debate would involve a team of three members, for and against the motion, where the arguments are addressed to the speaker. The topics of the debate will  be given to the teams 10 minutes before the debate. The topics given would be based on the Constitution of India, in relation to the social challenges of the country.

ii)    Parliamentary Debate Competition for Faculty:
The debate will be the same as for the students, with slight modifications such as an increased time limit and topics. This would be an opportunity for the students to witness and imbibe the skills of teachers 

iii)    Frame your own Constitution:
Frame your own Constitution is a competition that lets the participants add their own articles to the Constitution of India, in relation to the assigned topic. The topic would be given to the participants an hour in advance of the submission.

iv)    Constitutional Charades:
Constitutional Charades is a word-guessing game that involves explaining and identifying a word or a phrase relating to the constitution. The person playing the charade is not allowed to talk and is required to act out the name by using different gestures, facial expressions, and a good amount of body language. It is often understood as an acting game, in which one player acts out the hidden word or phrase, often by miming the words as clues to identify the actual.

v)    Pick and Speak:
Pick and Speak, a few topics would be written on the pieces of paper and put in a box, the participant would be picking the paper and speak on the topic that he gets for a minute.
